My name is Orlando Andersson and I have lived in Sweden, Taiwan, England, Belgium, Scotland and Netherlands, where I have studied a Commercial Photography course at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. My main photographic interests are images that depict architecture, documentary, and street life. I am also interested in still life photography. When I photograph architecture I focus mainly on geometry, lines, curves, patterns, and abstract designs of the buildings and also keeping it vertically straight when photographing the full building. Also photographing downwards by standing above halls to photograph a large amount of details of the interior design. I have recently become excited about photographing city life as well as the type of cultural events that are staged in big cities such as Copenhagen, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Ningbo, Shanghai. Hong Kong ,Taipei or New York I have often experienced the most photogenic situations at day in such cities. The rapidly developing cities of Asia and Europe are also exciting places in terms of creative and experimental architecture, which I have documented extensively. But documenting such emerging cityscapes is not my only urban interest. I have also documented the decay of old industrial sites as well as abandoned tenements in deprived urban neighborhoods. I am fascinated by the contrasts that juxtaposed images of urban wealth and urban poverty provide.

 

Because of my artistic bent I have always been oriented towards the art of still-life photography, which is not only aesthetically satisfying but also commercially relevant. The greatest satisfaction of a photographer is when the still-life objects have been designed by great artists. I have recently had the opportunity of visiting famous glass works in Sweden where I  photographed the design and production processes of some of the world’s most beautiful art glass. I will continue doing still-life photography involving other kinds of design. Examples include luxury cars, sport cars, design watches and even food photography.

 

I've also recently graduated filmmaking in the International Academy of Film & Television in Antwerp, Belgium, from there I can expand into the world of motion pictures with the help of my professional experience in photography.

 

During my filmmaking studies in IAFT I discovered that I'd like to focus at cinematography, also designing sound for film, such as ambient sound, special sound effects and Foley, the art of recreating sound from materials.=
